Inky Books ("Inky," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our voice-guided AI writing platform.
Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials.
Voice & Writing Data: When you use our voice-to-text features, we process your spoken words to generate written content. Your voice recordings are used exclusively to build your personal Author Neural Network — a model of your writing style and voice — and to generate your book content.
Content You Create: We store your book outlines, chapters, author profiles, and all content you generate or upload to the platform.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the platform, including features used, pages visited, and time spent, to improve our service.
You retain full ownership of all content you create using Inky Books — including your book manuscripts, outlines, character profiles, and Author Neural Network. We do not claim any ownership over your writing or ideas.
We do NOT: sell your content, publish your content, use your content to train publicly available AI models, or share your content with third parties except as necessary to provide the service (e.g., cloud storage, payment processing).
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption, access controls, and regular security audits. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Inky is an AI writing companion. To turn your ideas into a book, we send the information you provide — your onboarding answers, voice transcripts, book ideas, chapter notes, and the text you write or dictate — to a third-party AI provider, Anthropic (the "Claude" family of models), accessed through Base44's secure API.
Before any of your information is sent to the AI provider for the first time, the app clearly discloses this and asks for your explicit permission. You may decline; AI-powered features simply will not run until you agree. We do notsell your data or use it for advertising.
We also use other trusted third-party services to operate our platform, including:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
